One whole year! I can’t believe how fast time flew by, and we were already celebrating Lionel’s first birthday.
Of course, I don’t know the meaning of “relax.” So on top of moving, a whole house renovation, my birthday, the holidays, and my busy work schedule, I really thought hosting a party was a good idea.
I struggled — and I really want to emphasize struggled — to come up with a theme title. I always loved the idea of “First Trip Around the Sun,” but that is technically more space, which is not my vibes. I moved on to “Time Flies” trying to incorporate airplanes, but then thought “One-derful World” was cute. Only to land back at my original idea, but highlighting the sun and trip parts of it. Why was this important to me? No clue, but I’ve been known to always love a good theme and sticking to it.
Decor was going to be relatively easy to make — as soon as I was able to remember how to fold a paper airplane thanks to three different YouTube tutorials — and especially easy since I bought a Cricut right after finding out we were pregnant. Best purchase ever.
Everything I needed I was able to purchase at Michaels (minus the wood arches made by my amazing dad who can do anything).
You can find the dimensions we used to make the arches here.
And by some miracle, I had the perfect color linens from previous parties that were purchased from Table Cloths Factory.
